I believe life is a journey of passion, resilience, and rediscovery. My art channels these beliefs through every stroke, blending the raw emotion of Expressionism with the luminous movement and light of Impressionism.
Using mixed media and acrylics, I create powerful portraits and figures that honor human resilience, blending realism with abstraction to express the tension between fragmentation and wholeness.
With energetic brushwork, vibrant colors, and rich layers, my work aims to speak directly to the soul. Each piece begins with a life lesson, a moment of introspection, or a feeling in need of understanding.
I want my art to inspire others to slow down in an era of disposability, to find connection in an age of isolation, and to appreciate beauty in a world that often prioritizes speed over depth.
My art reflects contrasts—clarity and chaos, stillness and movement—mirroring the internal conflicts we face every day. My goal is to amplify the power of expression and remind us that every emotion is worthy of being heard.

Curie Dhawan is an Indo-Canadian visual artist whose journey is one of passion, resilience, and rediscovery.
Working from her studio in Calgary, Canada, she creates handcrafted, thought-provoking art that encourages people to unplug, reflect, and embrace a more meaningful way of living.
Using mixed media, contrast, and acrylics, Curie blends realism with abstract elements to express the tension between distractions and the pursuit of clarity.
Born and raised in an Indian business family, her heart always belonged to art. She won her first art award at just four years old, but after a personal loss, she stepped away from painting. Years later, the birth of her younger son reignited her love for art, leading her to create stunning, emotion-filled works that have been showcased internationally.
Her vibrant pieces reflect healing, strength, and the beauty of transformation. With the support of her family, Curie continues to share her story and inspire others through her artistic expression.

My Whole World
I feel so blessed to live out my dream of bringing beauty into the world and seeing others moved by it. The best part is that I get to do it alongside my amazing husband Aashish and our two sons Aarav & Kiaan and my beloved pets, Smokie the dog and Whiskey the cat. When I’m not painting, I love spending time with them and cooking them delicious meals.
